Celebrations and festivals are an integral part of the Valley. Feast of the Grape in February each year welcomes the wine harvest. Festival goers are able to enjoy glorious summer days with family and friends while sipping on exceptional wines, feasting on local cuisine and enjoying the sensory experience of grape stomping, tutored tastings and live music.
The start of winter is celebrated in the Valley with a unique offering of wines, soups, artisan breads, winter inspired culinary treats, live music and special dining experiences during Soup Sip and Bread at the beginning on June.
Sauvignon Blanc is the noble and celebrated grape varietal in Durbanville. Each year, Season of Sauvignon heroes the outstanding quality of Sauvignon Blanc produced in the Valley. During the weekend festival, The Durbanville Valley tasting which features all of the Valley’s excellent Sauvignon Blanc’s will is available at each of the participating wineries. The Durbanville Twelve Sauvignon Blanc – a wine produced by the Durbanville Wine Valley from a ton of grapes from each of the 12 farms is released during Season of Sauvignon and afterwards for sale from each of the participating wineries.
