Eat @ Altydgedacht is a rustic day-time eatery, open for breakfast and lunch, Monday to Saturday. Experience the farm, sitting under the trees or inside the 300 year old building in the barrel room. Groups can sample our platters while indulging in our award winning wine, at close to cellar-door-price. Celebrate a romantic anniversary between the wine barrels at candle light. Taste our home-made meals, like our signature dish, Chicken Pot Pie. A seasonal menu is available with hearty meals to pair with Altydgedacht's range of great wine.
Small functions are celebrated in our historical venue for private groups of 20 - 40 guests. Birthdays, kitchen teas, engagement parties shared with friends and family have special beginnings in this characterful setting. Our menus include options for braais to four course meals. Come and relax in this space with comfort at your finger tips.

The award winning Poplars Restaurant successfully marries international trends and local flavours.  Careful consideration is given to only serving hormone free red meat.  The much loved veranda is perfect on lazy summer days and the crackling fire adds a cosy glow in winter.  The relaxed yet sophisticated ambience makes Poplars the perfect setting for an intimate dining experience, but also caters for weddings, conferences and corporate functions.

The Durbanville Hills Eatery offer lazy lunches in a contemporary and relaxed Bistro-setting.  With the emphasis on fresh, local produce, the menu is wholesome with a modern-twist. Charcuterie & Cheese Platters are served in the tasting room.

Hillcrest restaurant is situated on the magnificent Hillcrest Wine estate in the Durbanville Wine Valley. The surrounding hills and vineyards embrace our small restaurant, tucking it away and making it cosy and comfortable with spectacular views.
Hillcrest is relaxed and informal with an upmarket flare. The lawn is popular for families with children. Our general food style is Tuscan and Mediterranean, yet we like to adhere to our South African roots.
Debbie, our enthusiastic chef uses local fresh produce and rustles up tasty dishes for you to enjoy. Our kitchen is responsible for everything that is on your plate from the bread we serve with our hearty soups to the slice of cake with your tea!!!

The Deli is situated in our cellar door area and we specialise in a variety of homemade delicacies including jams made from the grapes grown on the farm, rusks, home made biscuits and a variety of other items that will remind you of Meerendal’s hospitality when used at home.
A new feature at the Deli and Tasting room and Cellar door sales with its fantastic view from the balcony is the introduction of cheese platters.

Our cheese partner is Simonsberg Cheese and we made a selection of Camembert, Gouda, Cheddar and Simonzola cheeses from their port folio to have available as snack platters during wine tastings.

The cost is R65 per platter for two persons and will be available during the normal hours of the tasting room.

Monday to Sunday 09h00 to 18h00 (Sunday until 17H00)

Each Sunday the Meerendal tables are set with a sumptuous buffet for the family.

Come and enjoy a lush arrangement of oven roasted carveries, soups, salads, starters and complimentary dishes as well as a mouth watering spread of desserts.
