The Durbanville Wine Valley hosted the Season of Sauvignon on the 2nd to the 4th of October 2009. Every year, the Durbanville Wine Valley signals the start of white wine season with a jubilant week-end long celebration of extreme fun. This year saw the debut of the Durbanville Sauvignon Wine Ferry, taking to the air for an adventure of fine wines and brilliant views in a fleet of Base 4 helicopters.

Participating farms were  Altydgedacht, Bloemendal, D’Aria, De Grendel, De Vallei, Diemersdal, Durbanville Hills, Hillcrest, Klein Roosboom, Meerendal and Nitída.
